You’ve heard the adage that successful businesses surround themselves with successful people, and we couldn’t agree more! Therefore, we have applied and have been accepted as an industry professional of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

A Code of Ethics We Agree With…

Did you know SpaceTurtle has a code of ethics spelled out in each employee handbook?  Honesty and Integrity are as important to us as homeless puppies and kittens.  It was an easy decision to pledge to observe NARI’s high standards of honesty, integrity, and responsibility in the daily conduct of our business. The code of ethics that NARI has designed are the same founding principals in which we operate by and how we choose to conduct business with our clients.

Follow Local Building Codes (duh.)

I cringe when the following three things happen:  1) contractors ask homeowners to pull their own permits  2) contractors tell homeowners permits aren’t necessary when they are.  3) contractors do work when a licensed plumber, electrician, etc. is required.  We hear this all the time.  Yes permits may add some days to your project while we wait for city inspectors to get through the paperwork, but I can guarantee you your house isn’t going to fall down!.  Building codes vary considerably from each jurisdiction and are known to change year to year. As a NARI professional, we are required to know the codes and permit requirements for your project.  You can rest assured when working with us that we’ll know the correct permits to pull and when.

Licensed and Insured (Go ahead check me out…)

A NARI professional is required to carry the appropriate license(s) and insurance, including worker’s compensation, property damage, and personal liability insurance. We are fully licensed in both the state of Minnesota and Wisconsin and are fully insured.   You can find out if your contractor is licensed by looking them up on the state websites.  Fun fact: you can always ask your contractor to show you proof that they are licensed and insured.  If they aren’t willing to show you…well…that’s a red flag.

No Violations or Complaints (she said what?!)

A NARI professional will have no violations or complaints on record. Our practices will never mislead or deceive our customers and we will always take the appropriate action to preserve the health and safety of employees, trade contractors, and clients and the public.

Expertise (Trust me baby….)

Staying on top of design, safety, new products, building techniques, and trends is critical to ensure our clients receive the expertise they deserve and for which we are hired. We have in-house talent and on top of that…we know people.  Our powerful network allows us to stay ahead of the curve in the remodeling industry.

References (Shout it from the rooftops…)

There is no better contractor referral than that coming from a former client. We have an arsenal of recommendations from our former clients.   We are a 5-star company, and we aren’t afraid to show it.  Check out are reviews on google, nextdoor, Facebook, BBB, and our website.  It’s nothing but rave reviews and to be honest, it makes us blush a little.

If your contractor isn’t a NARI member, then you could be in trouble.

We are honored to be considered a member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).  We are happy the code of ethics that we believe in aligns with NARI.  It’s just another way to show our clients that we are the real deal.  (obviously)  When planning for your project, it is important to work with a trustworthy team of professionals. We believe there is so much knowledge to be gained from listening to other industry professionals, sharing best practices, and discussing opportunities to stay ahead of the curve in the remodeling industry.
