Panther Project

Our clients wanted to remodel the spaces that they see themselves using the most.  That meant a new fireplace in the living room, a fresh new master bathroom, and a beautifully finished basement.  It only took a moment in our first consultation to know we clicked with the owners right away and we were assured it was going to be a great remodel. (spoiler: it was)

But, The design didn't come together right away...

The problem: In the basement, there was a steel post holding up a steel beam right in the middle of the room,  ugh.  Usually those get buried into a newly built wall, but the client wanted to keep the space open to use for entertaining.

The solution: We built a stone tiled column to highlight a massive linear gas fireplace.  By turning the room on the diagonal we were able to bury the post along with the components for the fireplace in the column itself.  This makes the space look and feel bigger, which is always a good thing.
From there things fell into place.  Everything has a modern aesthetic without going too clinical or bare.  Tiles are matte, shapes are geometric or herringbone, colors are soft white.  And the carpet is plush!   The master bath pops with a black vanity cabinet contrasting against a clean and crisp white tub and vanity.  The real jewelry in the room is the satin nickel fixtures with (eternally classy) windmill knobs.  The main living room fireplace remodel was more than a facelift.  A dated wall niche is now flush.  The living room had a grand river stone fireplace but now the main focus is a clean and light herringbone tiled surround and ceramic hearth.  Everyone will be looking at the custom mantle our carpenters built to the client's specifications.  Its shaker design matches the cabinets perfectly.  I'm not sure if Olly and Bernie are allowed downstairs without supervision, but the two pups  now to a beautiful library, wet bar, bathroom, fireplace, living room, lounge, and room to spare!  We fell in love with this remodel but we also fell in love with those two goofy cavalier king charles spaniels.  We pride ourselves on treating our clients like family.  But in this case, the home owners treated us like one of their own.  Whether it was the constant supply of Monster Energy drinks, the freedom to stop by anytime unannounced, or the kind and supportive comments they gave us and our team.  We are thrilled to highlight their home as our featured renovation!
